MY FIRST AUDIO POST: EVOKING MEMORIES... PT. 1, EDDIE KENDRICKS, PT. 2, DIANA ROSS
My dulcet tones with a rewind of March 24th post
Substack keeps prompting me to try different approaches to my posts and there is something about doing an audio version of a post that brings a new flavour to it.
If it works (!), I may do more and I figured I’d start with my recent post which focuses on two of my all time favourite albums of the ‘70s and why listening to them on my ‘Whitney Houston’ headphones brought back some precious memories…
First up, Eddie Kendricks, he of the great falsetto and dashing good looks, talkin’ “People… Hold On…”
And….Ms. Ross, The Boss (sorry Bruce Springsteen fans but in MY world, there’s only one! The 1971 album, “Surrender” holds so many memories for me…
Be great to get some feedback from the wonderful subscribers about whether you’d like more audio posts as well as the written posts I’ve been doing since last September. Maybe a combo of both works?
Since it’s been a few weeks since I posted last, I’ll be doing another post this weekend celebrating two true ‘unsung’ artists (in terms of widespread appreciation) whose music is very dear to my heart, my music biz ‘godmother’ Doris Troy and the super-soulful D.J. Rogers. Stay tuned…and as ever, grateful to all my subscribers! A shameless plug…if you wanna upgrade from free to paid, it’s alright with me (as Cole Porter once wrote!).
Stay ultra-groovy!
